Stay Badminton Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Stay Badminton. By registering, participating in recorded matches, submitting information, or using badminton-ph.com, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Nature of the Platform

Stay Badminton is an independent community badminton ranking and match-recording platform. Its rankings, MMR ratings, badges, player statistics, and awards are for community and recreational purposes. They are not official rankings of the Philippine Badminton Association, Badminton World Federation, a badminton court, government agency, or other sports organization unless expressly stated otherwise.

2. Player Eligibility and Registration

Players must provide accurate, non-misleading information. A player must not create multiple accounts to manipulate rankings or rewards; use another person's identity without permission; submit false results or personal information; allow improper account use; or interfere with the website, database, rankings, or match records.

Stay Badminton may reasonably verify identity, participation, results, or eligibility. Accounts with false, duplicate, incomplete, or suspicious information may be temporarily restricted while reviewed.

3. Match Records

Only matches accepted by an authorized Stay Badminton administrator or facilitator affect official platform statistics and MMR. Players are responsible for checking recorded teams, scores, winners, venues, and other match details, and should report errors or disputes promptly.

Stay Badminton may correct, remove, reverse, or recalculate a match based on credible evidence of an encoding error, incorrect score or player selection, duplicate or nonexistent match, substitution or identity misrepresentation, match fixing, collusion, intentional losing, ranking manipulation, or a technical/database error. Reasonable evidence may include match photos, score sheets, witness statements, facilitator records, or court records.

4. MMR and Ranking System

MMR, ranks, statistics, streaks, leaderboards, and awards are calculated under the rules currently implemented by Stay Badminton. The formula, thresholds, eligibility requirements, and display rules may be revised to improve fairness, correct errors, discourage abuse, or support community changes. Changes may affect future matches and, where reasonably needed to correct error or manipulation, prior records. No player owns a particular MMR, rank, position, badge, title, or statistic.

5. Fair Play and Prohibited Conduct

Players must not fabricate or deliberately misreport matches; coordinate artificial wins or losses; intentionally lose to transfer MMR; use substitute players under another identity; harass or intimidate others; exploit bugs; seek unauthorized access; use automation to manipulate the platform; create duplicate accounts for rewards or advantages; or offer benefits to influence results. Stay Badminton may hold affected results, MMR changes, rankings, or rewards while investigating suspicious activity.

6. Account and Ranking Enforcement

Depending on the circumstances, Stay Badminton may issue a warning; correct or remove a match; reverse MMR; remove a player from a leaderboard; suspend or ban an account; disqualify a player from an event, award, promotion, or prize; or refer serious conduct to the relevant venue, organization, or authorities. Whenever reasonably possible, the player will be informed and offered an opportunity to explain. Decisions are based on available records and evidence and are final for platform purposes, without limiting rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Prizes, Rewards, and Promotions

Displayed prize pools, estimates, future prizes, sponsor contributions, or promotional amounts are not automatically guaranteed. A prize is claimable only after official announcement, satisfaction of published eligibility and completion requirements, verified results, completion of applicable claiming requirements, no unresolved integrity issue, and confirmation that the prize is lawful and available under the promotion rules.

Estimated, proposed, sponsored, crowdfunded, or “coming soon” prizes may change before an official promotion begins. Prizes may be temporarily withheld while credible fraud, cheating, collusion, duplicate-account, false-information, manipulation, technical-abuse, or eligibility concerns are investigated. Taxes, identification requirements, transport, and other claiming costs are the winner's responsibility unless the official rules say otherwise.

8. Health, Safety, and Participation Risk

Badminton is a physical activity that can involve injury, illness, collision, equipment damage, or other risks. Players decide whether they are fit to participate and must follow venue safety rules. Stay Badminton does not control court conditions, other players, venue staff, equipment, transport, or medical care. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Court and Venue Rules

Players must comply with venue policies. Stay Badminton is not automatically the owner, operator, representative, employee, or agent of a listed court unless expressly identified as such. Listings, affiliations, logos, and locations do not necessarily indicate sponsorship or endorsement.

10. Website Availability and Accuracy

Stay Badminton aims for accurate records and availability, but uninterrupted and error-free operation is not guaranteed. Maintenance, internet or hosting interruptions, programming or database errors, delayed statistics, security incidents, and data loss or corruption may occur. Reasonable efforts may be made to restore records and correct confirmed errors.

11. Personal Information and Public Profiles

We process information needed to register players, administer matches, calculate rankings, communicate with users, prevent abuse, and operate the platform. A player's name or display name, Player ID, affiliation or location, MMR, rank, wins, losses, matches, streaks, match history, awards, badges, leaderboard placement, and permitted profile photograph may be public. Passwords, private emails, and phone numbers should not be publicly displayed. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

12. Photos and Media

Stay Badminton will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable player photos or videos for promotion where consent is required. Players may request review or removal of an image that raises a legitimate privacy, safety, or consent concern. Media created by independent courts, players, spectators, or organizers remains subject to their own policies and responsibilities.

13. Intellectual Property

The Stay Badminton name, branding, website design, original text, graphics, software, ranking presentation, and other original materials may not be copied, republished, sold, or represented as someone else's work without permission. Players retain ownership of submitted content while granting Stay Badminton permission to store, process, reproduce, and display it as reasonably necessary to operate the platform.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stay Badminton is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from temporary unavailability, reasonably corrected ranking or data errors, independent venue or organizer decisions, player misconduct, unauthorized access caused by a user's failure to protect login details, or circumstances beyond reasonable control. Nothing removes rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms for platform improvements, competitions, security needs, legal requirements, or changes to ranking rules. The revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, subject to applicable law.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Disputes should first be raised directly with Stay Badminton so the parties can attempt informal resolution.

This Privacy Policy explains how Stay Badminton collects, uses, displays, protects, and shares personal information when you use badminton-ph.com, register a player profile, or participate in recorded matches.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information you provide during registration or match administration, including your name or display name, Player ID, affiliation or location, contact information, profile photo, and account details. We also collect match-related information such as team selections, scores, results, dates, venues, statistics, MMR, rank, awards, and match history.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to create and administer player accounts, record and verify matches, calculate MMR and rankings, display statistics, communicate about the platform, provide support, prevent fraud or misuse, investigate disputes, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Information Visible to Others

Because Stay Badminton is a community ranking platform, some information is public by design. This may include your name or chosen display name, Player ID, affiliation or location, profile photo when permitted, MMR, rank, wins, losses, streaks, match history, badges, awards, and leaderboard placement. We do not intend to display passwords, private email addresses, or phone numbers publicly.

4. Photos and Media

We may use player photos or videos for profiles, match records, or promotion when appropriate permission has been obtained where required. You may ask us to review or remove an image that raises a legitimate privacy, safety, or consent concern. Photos or videos created by independent venues, players, spectators, or organizers are subject to their own policies.

5. When We Share Information

We may share information with administrators, facilitators, and service providers only as reasonably needed to operate the platform, administer matches, resolve disputes, maintain security, or meet legal obligations. We may also disclose information when needed to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Stay Badminton, its users, or the public. We do not sell personal information.

6. Data Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, maintain match and ranking records, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect against abuse. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no internet service or database can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your Choices and Requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal requirements and legitimate platform needs such as preserving match-integrity records. You may also raise concerns about public profile information or photos. Some information may need to remain available where necessary for ranking accuracy, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance.

8. Children

If you are a minor, please use the platform with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required. We may request appropriate consent or verification before processing a minor's information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect platform changes, security needs, or legal requirements. Any update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
